           Spring is (almost) in the Air!

Flocks of sheep have a way of growing! Spring lambing is just around the corner...do you know shepherds who care for their flocks? Surprise them with some additions of your own! A wonderful gift as a tribute for all their hard work.

These photos  were taken the morning after a fresh new snow at the Still River Mill in Eastford, CT where David and I spent a weekend in late January learning more about processing wool  and exotic fibers (yak, qiviut, angora, bison ...etc).   Deirdre Bushnell and Greg Driscoll have been plying their talents here at the mill as proficiently as they ply their yarn. They are experts in processing fiber.

Nestled in the rolling hills of rural northeastern Connecticut, they nurture their three sons and raise a few animals on the same property as the mill. With the rising sun, you can see the llamas and goats are curious about the strangers from Vermont (or maybe just hungry!) as Greg helps us with our luggage. A PHOTO HISTORY OF WOOLIEDALES ETC.

It’s a 7”x9” paperback photo book with 43 pages including dozens of colored photos of the wonderful needle felted creations Carol has sculpted during the past several years! Also included are photos of Jesse and Scuffer, the two Airedales that initially inspired her work, and the dogs, animals, and people in wool that have pleased folks so much over the years.
